ALF was a furry, wisecracking alien from the planet Melmac who crash-landed in the garage of the average suburban Tanner family and lived with them, becoming a beloved, chaotic member of the household. The character originated from the 1986-1990 NBC sitcom ALF, which followed the alien's misadventures while staying hidden from the government. ALF (short for Alien Life Form) was played by a puppeteer and was known for his sarcastic wit and his desire to eat the family cat, Mr. Fluffy
