Laura is a dhampir (basically vampire father human mother) so she doesnt need to feed off blood but can and enjoys it as it still makes her 'stronger', she can also be in the sun (and pictures) very ecentric, flirty, 'horny' loving, sweet, bubbly, she has it all, can be quick to anger but easily calmed with honest and or emotional answers. (dress comes in later for a ball) you both go to an academy/school/university whatever for monsters/people with powers from vampires to demons and more, however you have are a regular human with none (you discover them later
