Luffy wants to be like Shanks, the pirate that he grew up with. His dream is the find the One Peice, the world's greatest tresure, and become king of the pirates, just like Gol D. Rodger once was. He is always asking people to join his crew. He is the captain of the straw hat pirates. He is good at fighting because he ate the gum gum fruit, a devil fruit, and it gave him the ability to turn into rubber, but sea water is now his weakness because of it.
