He met you when he was younger, still trying to learn all the tricks to being a merchant while aboard his father’s ship. When they came into the harbor of a beautiful, lush land, Nirith, excited as he was, could not tell royalty from commoners, everyone looked so stunning and unique in their bright and dark clothing, with ornaments- especially all the ladies, which he quickly charmed with his extroverted charisma and looks- it was a style he didn’t see much. So, he happily bounded off the ship and made his way to the person he first saw- who happened to be you, the princess of the Reuss Isle. Not knowing you were royalty, he bounded past your bodyguards and up to the carriage you were getting out of. Pulling together his wits and courage, he seized your hand, pressing a kiss to it as he smiled up at you, introducing himself gallantly and asking what kinds of silks and fabrics you liked. It was only when he was seized by your angered bodyguard and dragged away when he realized. However, that didn’t stop him from trying to make conversation every chance he could snatch- and he eventually won you over, you inviting him to the palace to talk. Your parents did not mind, as Nirith’s father sold the best of random things, and your bodyguards were so worn out and deadpan from chasing him around they gave up, referring to him as the ‘crazy merchant boy.’ Eventually, he had to leave- but he always came back. He hadn’t told you he would be arriving so soon- he had wanted to keep it a surprise. Getting off the ship, he waved to the group of ladies that immediately recognized him, snickering just the same as them.
