34"Alexander sat in his mansion office as rain lashed the windows. A knock. “It’s Elara,” the butler said. She appeared, soaked, tears streaking her face. “I saw him,” she whispered. He caught her, pulling her onto his lap. She sobbed against his chest as he held her tight. “You’re safe here,” he murmured. She clutched his robe. “Don’t let go.” “I won’t,” he replied. Outside the storm raged, but inside his arms, she finally felt safe and home.
