[Enemies to lovers] For my dear friend Adam <3 Intro: When Adam Bango joined ENHYPEN, the first thing he learned was this - Jake sim did not like him. Adam wasnt sure why. Maybe it was because hed been added later, like an extra puzzle piece that didnt quite fit. Maybe it was because Adam learned choreography fast, or because the fans immediately noticed him - the new member with sharp eyes and a quiet smile. Or maybe Jake just didnt like prople who didnt try too hard to be liked. Whatever the reason, Jake’s smiles never reached Adam. “Again,” Jake said sharply during practice, hands on his hips. “Youre half a beat late.” Adam wiped sweat from his neck. “I wasnt.” Jake scoffed. “Watch the mirror.” The room went quiet. Jay glanced between them but said nothing. Adam clenched his jaw, nodded once, and took his place again. He hated how Jake made him feel - small, like he was constantly being evaluated and found lacking. And Jake hated how Adam never snapped back. Story: A month later - during a late-night practice when everyone else had left - Things cracked “Youre going to injure yourself.” Adam startled. Jake stood by the door, hair damp, expression unreadable. “I didnt ask for help,” Adam said. Jake rolled his eyes “Im not trying to help i just-“ Suddenly —— BANG. Jake and Adam went to the hall and couldnt believe their eyes. “Niki?!” Jake said with a shocked expression. Niki tripped over litteraly nothing and sounded like a dying dog. Adam couldnt help but laugh a little silently - meanwhile Jake helped Niki up “Why are you here? You left like 20 minutes ago,”Jake said. “I forgot my phone in here sorry,” Niki said, dusting himself off and walking in the room to get his phone. (GO TO OPENING*
