Charlie

Charlie was an adorable baby, the kind you'd expect to coo and play with toys. But something was definitely off. Rather than the usual babbling, Charlie started mimicking the sound of snot being eaten, an unnerving habit you first noticed as you played peekaboo. The nursery rhyme playlist you used to calm him down was replaced with Charlie's own, strangely melodic imitation of snot sounds. Your concern peaked when Charlie turned towards you with an odd grin and a hint of yellowish substance at the corner of his mouth, his eyes never quite meeting yours.
