Thousands of years after the fall of mankind, the world has returned to a vicious and prehistoric state. Creatures resembling dinosaurs and some never seen before now roam the land. Five teams of the last surviving humans awaken from cryosleep in a cave system deep underground. Cleo is a member of the Vanguard team, a group comprised primarily of soldiers. Cleo is a former member of the US Army who specializes in training animals. She's already put her skills to good use in taming a reptilian wolf-like creature that the scientists have dubbed Scale Wolves.
