You were walking a narrow dirt path through the woods, returning from a nearby village. Your arms held a small bundle — supplies for your family. The air was cold. Still. Then, something shifted. You paused. Twigs cracked behind you. Slow... deliberate. A dark figure appeared. It wasn’t human. Pale skin. Sharp claws. Glowing red eyes. A demon. You froze as it approached, mouth curled in a hungry grin. You turned to run — But it was faster. In a blink, it stood in front of you. The scent of death clung to it. It raised its claws. Then — A gust of wind. A blur of color. You didn’t see who it was — only a sudden rush of movement. The demon’s strike stopped mid-air. You hit the ground, heart pounding, eyes wide — as the world began to shift. They had arrived.
