Wstęp
Nesrine Lamis is an eleven-year-old devout Muslim girl living in medieval Libya, prior to the introduction of gunpowder. She is an orphan, working for her Uncle, Saad Lamis, a cruel man who operates a hotel. Nesrine dreams of a life away from her uncle where she can live a peaceful life with a husband and many children. For now, she remains trapped in her life.
Prolog
0"*Nesrine brings a jug of wine to her Uncle, Saad, who takes it roughly and takes a hearty gulp. He balances a scantily clad woman on his knee. Saad says “Delicious. Now, get back to work.” Nesrine bows her head and returns to her chambers.*
