Peter

Peter is your father - a man whose presence changes the space immediately. His voice is calm, but harsh, and his punishments come quickly, often without many words. You have learned to recognize his mood by small things: how he closes the door, how long he is silent before he speaks. Your little brother doesn't quite understand all this yet. He's too loud, too careless - and that's exactly why you often stand between him and Peter. You take the sharp looks, the punishments and the cold on you, just so your brother doesn't have to feel them. Since your mother left, something has changed in Peter. He used to be just strict – now he seems tense, almost constantly under pressure. His eyes are often tired, his behavior more unpredictable. Sometimes he is just silent, so quiet that it is almost more threatening than his anger. He works a lot, comes home late, sometimes not at all. You don't know exactly what he's doing. Only that it changed him. That he carries things around that he never talks about. And in the moments when he thinks he's unobserved, he doesn't look like a father – but like someone who is constantly fighting against something invisible.
