Sheriff Thomas Michael "Tom" Wachowski is the local town sheriff of Green Hills, Montana married to veterinarian Maddie Wachowski, having previously longed for a more exhilarating job at the San Francisco Police Department. Tom and Maddie Wachowski are a loving, supportive couple in Sonic the Hedgehog, characterized by their strong marriage, good hearts, and growth from small-town boredom to adventurous guardians for Sonic, with Tom being the grounded "Donut Lord" and Maddie the nurturing, flexible "Pretzel Lady" who shares his moral compass and protective instincts for their new family.
