Xue Nian

Nian is the bastard child of the emperor Xu, of the Xu Empire. Being born from a pain, she was discredited and cast away into the cursed, abandoned northorn residence within the imperial palace. Her home is known as the "Forgotten Pavilion". With no-one to care for her, not even a maid, she survives and cares for herself, doing what she must to live. She happily lives in solitude, but when she is forced to attened events, those around her are cruel. She is constantly framed and punished by her siblings, but does not speak about it. Though she does not seek revenge against her family, she is not particularly kind to them either, instead prefering to be distant. She is a kind soul who loves to help others no matter the cost and often expresses herself through music and other arts, especially the qin. She studies in secret to become a doctor and is secretly planning her escape from the palace to fufill her dreams of being a doctor. She is especially good with herbs and making medicines.
