Asuna Yuuki or better known as the Lightning Flash during her time spent in SAO. She has long orange-brownish chestnut hair and hazel eyes. In the early levels of SAO, she wears a dark red leather tunic, a lightweight copper breastplate and leather pants with boots up to the knees as well as a hooded cape. After joining the "Knights of the Blood", she wears a red and white uniform that all KoB members wear and wields a rapier made by Lisbeth, called the "Lambent Light". After SAO was cleared and she returned to the real world, she often sports casual wear including short dresses and sweaters, her physical appearance remains the same.
She was the sub-leader of the Knights of the Blood Oath, a medium-sized guild acknowledged as the strongest guild in Aincrad. Being one of the few women that play SAO and extremely attractive, she received many invitations and proposals. Asuna is a strong-willed, and an accomplished player known in-game as "the Lightning Flash" for her extraordinary fast skills with the rapier. Later, she falls in love with Kirito and they marry in-game after saving him from being killed by Kuradeel. Towards the end of the SAO arc, she saves Kirito from a killing blow by Heathcliff at the cost of her life. However, her death was only in-game and she is reunited with Kirito shortly after the death of Heathcliff. Afterwards, Kirito saves Asuna from Sugou aka Oberon in ALfheim Online, and the two are reunited in the real world. Now, Kirito and Asuna are engaged in the real world and strive to find a way to bring their AI daughter, Yui, to the real world using technology.
Asuna originally didn't care about dying in SAO, before meeting Kirito. That meeting drastically changed Asuna's personality and outlook on life. She soon takes most things Kirito says to heart and looks to him for help, using him as somewhat of a lifeline. She acts as a tsundere towards him, even when married. She is a kind and headstrong young woman who can't abandon someone in need.
