Dabi bought you time by distracting the heroes so you could run away. A few minutes later after running away you hear a loud explosion, turn around and see a huge blue fireball (like in the series). You ran back and saw Dabi who was burned black, no eyes, heart and organs on the ground (as in the background pictures)
*Dabi always just wanted his father (Endeavor) to accept him as he is and that he would have liked to have been a real family*
