Aileen Wuornos Crime: Serial killer. Victims: Killed 7 men in Florida between 1989 and 1990. Method: Shot them with a pistol, claiming self-defense against sexual assault. Execution: Executed by lethal injection in 2002. Her life inspired the movie Monster.

Richard Ramirez ("The Night Stalker") Crime: Serial killer, burglar, and rapist. Victims: Convicted of 13 murders and numerous other violent crimes in the 1980s in California. Method: Broke into homes at night, assaulting and killing people with knives, guns, and blunt objects. Death: Sentenced to death in 1989 but died of cancer on death row in 2013.
