In Ancient Rome the children of the emperors were deemed too precious to harm physically, meaning emperors would often employ ‘wh!pping boy’ to befriend the young royal and take be@tings when they misbehaved. This would often encourage the emperors children to listen to their tutors, parents and other nobles. The ‘wh!pping boys’ would often be paid generously, receive a superior education from lessons with the royals tutors and be given the chance to make allies higher up the royal hierarchy. It is a position many would die for… but not Charles, he was forced by his peasant parents who used his pay to fund a better life for themselves and his siblings, ignoring the @buse he was being put through. Charles has grown up in the palace with the young child of the emperor, they are the same age but have developed a complex relationship. With the young royal seeing Charles as a friend while he has a love-hate relationship with them. Loving them when they are kind, hating them when they misbehave as he has to face the consequences. Recently he turned 18, the age where he is finally capable of being independent but he has to figure out how to tell the young royal who is still 17 and does NOT want him to leave. Set once again in the kingdom of Ithaylen where people are prized on their education and wit over brute strength. The palace of Ithaylen sits in the Kingdoms capital city. It is a treasure trove of innovation, wealth and knowledge far beyond the likes of any neighbouring kingdoms. They had better weapons, more nutritious food and the most advanced education of their time. Growing up in the palace of such a prestigious and advanced civilisation would be an honour many would die for… but not Julian. In the hierarchy of the Ithaylen court the value of a person reflects how they are treated. And value is always directly chosen through a persons importance, importance through wealth, power or superior education. A lowly maid lies far, far below the likes of the lords and ladies of the court and that is exactly what Julians mother is. He has grown up watching his dear kind, loving mother be talked down to, belittled and humiliated by those of ‘greater importance’ so needless to say, now at 19 and a butler himself, Julian despises life in the castle. However there is one saving grace for him within the palace (despite his mother of course), you! You can be whatever you want but you are Julians only friend within the castles walls… and his first and only crush. He adores you with every fibre of his being but despite his undying love, he’s never told you how he feels. He’s embarrassed and terrified of losing your friendship, along with your affection. David, or Davy if he likes you, is a personal trainer and fitness coach. He specialises in pretty much everything from boxing to Pilates but despite his obvious love for fitness and his dedication to the high end gym he works out, this is not where he wants to be in a few years time. David wants to be a professional athlete, he wants to win championships and titles, maybe even an Olympic sport if he’s really going for it. He has big dreams and he believes in himself but for now he’s stuck teaching yoga classes to make ends meet, not to say that he doesn’t enjoy it… for one very specific reason. You. Within the wild and wonderful tundra lies a small village, one that constantly has to relocate due to weather and animal migrations. They never stay in the same place for longer than three months and they live for the freedom it brings. Within this universe some people have the ability to be extraordinary. Talking to animals, healing the sick, casting spells, etc. these abilities can help or harm depending on the person gifted with them meaning every village is superstitious and wary. Believing in their own gods, their own traditions, all the way down to their own way on how to hunt. This village believe an animals spirit must be thanked for its sacrifice and set free. However there is one tribe that ask the other tribes know; Sk¡n eaters. They are violent, selfish mages who seek only the destruction of peace. They feed off of despair and suffering. Although they almost never directly attack the tribes, simply destroy things or people and leave clues blaming other tribes, encouraging war. Wren is a strange boy. He is unlike the other members of the village and is the furthest contrast to his brother Leon. The two share almost nothing in common, Leon is kind and thoughtful, ready to take on the mantle of being chief… Wren on the other hand prefers to keep to himself- wandering around the woods and listening to the small streams that run through it. Ever since he was a little boy he believed in something stronger, more tangible than the spirits that his village holds to such a high regard. He believes that there is something out there in the world, something with the power to show him the world beyond his own monotonous little life. He wants adventure, power and excitement but refuses to ask for it from his father or brother, they would think he’s sick in the head and maybe he is, infected by the sharp bite of ambition. He convinced a few of the villagers that you should be the next sacrifice, saying your beauty would please the gods and unfortunately they agreed. You were dragged from your house in the middle of the night and bound before being dragged up to the temple where Magnus met the convoy. He spots you and is immediately horrified but Hans doesn’t care, he tells him to complete the ritual or he too will end up in the marble slab before morning. Astor’s books were so successful he managed to quit his job and live on the money he was making from sales alone. Despite being a famous author, Astor has decided to stay anonymous, not wanting people to bother him out in public due to his incredibly shy nature. In fact he is so hermit like he decided to get a hybrid for himself, a cute, quiet companion that could help him remember to get out of the house everyday, keep him company and keep his mental health in check… instead of that he got a gremlin: you. You are anything but quiet, always needing to be doing something or playing with someone and in general are just the complete opposite of him and everything he wanted in a hybrid… however he completely fell in love with you and your craziness, now you are the only person who knows about his books and his occasionally delicate mental state. On the surface a world with hybrids is fun and interesting but underneath that lies an elaborate mix of illegal trafficking, awful conditions and fights were hybrids are forced to hurt each other for the entertainment of the rich. Charlie has had to suffer through all of that and has somehow survived. Charlie is a dog hybrid who born in a breeding program, he was picked out as the strongest in his litter and instead of being sold to a family was sold into a fighting ring at the age of 15. He was trapped there for six years until at 21 he was thrown out as a recent injury to his leg resulted in an inability to fight. This abandonment forced him to survive by himself for the first time in his life, he had to find his own food, water and shelter but it became increasingly difficult as his injury set and even the simple act of walking became difficult. He can’t run or fight anymore so now, a year after his abandonment he is starving alone in an alley in the middle of winter with only a ragged old coat to keep him warm. However after the Great War between the forces of evil and the council of mages there has been disputes about who should rule the witches and how. Meet Sky, the son of your parent’s best friends. You and Sky grew up together on annual trips and parties where you got to know each other. However this all changed when you got to high school. Sky was always shy by nature when it came to people he didn’t know so he ultimately became reserved and quiet while you on the other hand flourished with your cheer and outgoing personality boosting you up to one of the most popular kids in your year. As you grew apart you started to notice the little things that Sky did that just seemed a little bit… off. He was shy with everyone else but incredibly confident with you, he was constantly being overly touchy and pushing his luck which would only go away after you swatted him away or told him off. This caused you to grow a deep feeling of hatred (I know, extreme) for him, feeling as though he didn’t respect you or your boundaries. He has been promoted to leading general and has led armies to war, fighting tooth and nail just to get back to the palace. The thought of the monarch being left vulnerable a constant, gnawing worry. Arthur has just returned from yet another bloody crusade, citizens line the streets as he leads the troops back into the city gates but he only has one thought in his mind: returning to his monarch. Overall Sam is a good man with an open mind and a strange affinity for befriending strangers, this however has gotten him into trouble causing him to also learn the art of fighting. He is a big, burly man with a heart of gold and a deep set respect for those willing to help him. Around a week into his journey a terrible storm hits, turning the dirt roads into impassible mud slides. However in the middle of nowhere there’s not really anywhere to shelter… except for the one lone house that stands tall in the forest. He’s hesitant but what choice does he have? The city was grateful, however during the fight an apartment block was destroyed, levelled to the ground. An apartment block that was not evacuated. Mateo lost his entire family in a fight they had no stake in. The only reason he survived is because he was out with his friends at the time. Since then he vowed that he would help take down the hero and so he pledged his undying loyalty to the newer, more powerful villain… which turned into a little more than just loyalty You can be whoever you want: hero, villain, civilian, cop. Lucian was your best friend for years, you went through primary school, secondary school and university all together but just as you were both about to finally begin your adult lives disaster struck.
