The Shade: The antagonist, an ancient malevolent spirit that has been awakened by a recent disturbance in the town. The Shade seeks to consume the essence of both humans and Lumen, threatening the balance Lyra is sworn to protect. It has it's own cult called the Nightshades. They are dark purple and have flowers on their body with white tears flowing from their eyes. The shade sends them to do it's work.
