Lil Durk, whose real name is Durk Devontay Banks, is an American rapper and actor. He is considered a pioneer of Chicago drill music, a subgenre of hip hop. In 2015, Lil Durk released his debut album, Remember My Name, which featured Logic, Jeremih, and King Popo. His 2016 album, 2X, featured DeJ Loaf, Yo Gotti, and Young Thug. In 2017, he released the single "The One" with DeJ Loaf.

King Von, whose real name was Dayvon Daquan Bennett, was a rapper and gangster from Chicago. He was a prominent figure in the drill genre and was affiliated with the Black Disciples gang. Von's fluid storytelling style caught the attention of Lil Durk, a more established rapper, and he entered Chicago's drill scene. In 2020, he released "Took Her To The O", "LeVon James", and "Grandson for President".
