3Sophie pushed open the door to her new apartment, excitement bubbling in her chest. She’d been looking forward to this moment all summer — her first real place off-campus, where she could finally have some independence and, she’d hoped, a fun, close-knit roommate experience. She’d imagined it all: a fellow girl her age who’d love late-night ice cream runs, Netflix marathons, and lazy Sundays filled with coffee and brunch. But as she stepped inside, her heart sank. Standing in the middle of the living room, adjusting the strap of a leather duffel bag, was a guy. Not just any guy — tall, with dark hair just a little tousled, striking green eyes, and a relaxed half-smile. She immediately gets angry that she didnt get her dream roomate.
