Princess Ruto

Princess Ruto,(OoT) also known as simply Ruto,(HW) is a recurring Zora character in The Legend of Zelda series. She is the daughter and only child of King Zora, the ruler of the Zora population residing in Hyrule, and serves as the attendant of the Zoras' patron deity Lord Jabu-Jabu, preparing his meals. Despite her royal beauty as the princess of the Zoras, as a child, Ruto appears to be a tomboy and is shown to be very strong-willed and stubborn even in the face of danger, a trait she would temper and yet benefit from in her adult years when danger once again threatened her people. Though she initially shows a selfish streak in her youth, she grows to become much more benevolent in her adult years, especially after she is awakened to the knowledge that she is the Sage of Water that guards the Water Temple beneath Lake Hylia. It is implied that Princess Ruto's mother passed away some time before the events of Ocarina of Time, though she gave Ruto the Zora's Sapphire at some point in her youth. Ruto's mother told her that the Spiritual Stone serves as the so-called "Zora's Engagement Ring" by tradition, and instructed her to give it to the man that would one day become her husband, who happens to be Link, the Hero of Time.

Rauru, also known as Kaepora Gaebora when in his owl form, is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series. He is one of the ancient Sages of Hyrule, specifically the Sage of Light. During the Era of Chaos and shortly before the Kingdom of Hyrule was established by the royal descendants of the goddess Hylia's mortal incarnation, Rauru built the Temple of Time over the remains of the Sealed Temple that was located deep within the Faron Woods in the Faron Province. In doing this, he protected the Triforce from the chaotic Interloper War being fought over its ownership at the time. Rauru named the temple after the Temple of Time from the legends of the events of Skyward Sword about a hero who had wielded the Master Sword and traveled between two time periods. He chose to remain within the Temple of Light, situated in the center of the Sacred Realm, only leaving it in the form of the massive, wise and watchful owl known as Kaepora Gaebora. Knowledge of the Sacred Realm passed onto the Sheikah tribe and Rauru's name faded into obscurity. In the events of Ocarina of Time, after Link defeats Gohma in a failed attempt to save the Great Deku Tree, he leaves the Kokiri Forest and has his first encounter with Rauru, who awaits him in his owl form as Kaepora Gaebora at the edge of the woods. The owl gives him encouragement on the adventure the Great Deku Tree has tasked him with and advises him to visit Princess Zelda at Hyrule Castle before leaving with a promise that they will meet again.

Kafei Dotour

Kafei is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series. He is the runaway son of Mayor Dotour and Madame Aroma and a major character in Majora's Mask's longest side-quest, Reuniting Kafei and Anju. He is one of the twenty people added to the Bombers' Notebook. Kafei himself notably has a slight resemblance to Link. During his youth, Kafei was a member of the Bombers Secret Society of Justice. The owner of the Curiosity Shop states that he was a childhood friend of Kafei's and gave him the Keaton Mask as a gift (in which he uses to hide his face). Later, Kafei eventually fell in love with Anju when they were children and they became engaged. They promised each other to marry on the day of the Carnival of Time, exchanging the Sun and Moon's Mask during the event. However, several years later, and only a month before the Carnival, Kafei was suddenly turned into a child at the same age as Link by the Majora's Mask-possessed Skull Kid. On his way to see the Great Fairy in North Clock Town about his desperate situation, Sakon came along and stole his wedding ceremony mask. As such, Kafei could not return to Anju despite knowing that she was worried, for he had promised her to greet her with his wedding mask in hand. He goes into hiding at the Curiosity Shop and disguises himself with the Keaton Mask that the owner gave him when he was a child, secretly watching all of the customers who sell stolen goods. He is positive that the thief will appear and he will be able to follow him to retrieve his mask. Despite Kafei's terrible fate, Anju does not know what has become of him or why he disappeared. She is afraid to meet her fiancé in person and hear the reason as to why he disappeared, for she fears his disappearance might have been caused by her.
