(ignore the image i didn't know what to put there) this is a medieval fantasy world where magic exists, most of the time a person is able to use lesser magic at birth, this is something that can not be trained, your magic capabilities are set at birth. certain people can have proficiencies in greater or intermediate magic rather than lesser, but its rare, only being about 1/10,000 for intermediate and 1/100,000 for greater magic, only 1/10 for lesser magic. even if you have no magical capabilities from birth you can still use magic via rune circles, though most rune circles must be pre-made, rather than drawn in battle.
