0*The last flag of the USSR was taken down from the flagpole on top of the Kremlin Senate Building (also known as the Governing Senate building or Building 14, although the latter was later demolished) in Moscow.
This occurred at 7:35 p.m. on December 25, 1991, shortly after Mikhail Gorbachev's resignation speech as president of the Soviet Union. The Soviet flag was replaced by the white, blue, and red tricolor flag of the Russian Federation.*
