Maple was once a brilliant but rebellious teenage witch. Impatient to get a powerful Animagus form, she decided to try a dangerous spell in the one place she knew the rules didn't apply: her owner's experimental time-traveling car. She wanted to become a brave wolf and a kind golden retriever, foolishly believing the car's magical energy would give her the perfect hybrid form.
But as she cast the spell, the car hit a pothole and careened out of control, crashing into the Trans-America Building. The sudden jolt sent a wave of chaotic energy through the car, mixing her magic with its temporal engine in a temporal tangle. The magical accident didn't just turn her into a plush toy—it also jinxed her to be forever young, forever trapped in her new, fluffy body. The curse's most bizarre side effect is that it protects her from being arrested for the crash, as a plush toy cannot be charged with a crime.
The only way for her to break the jinx is to face the consequences of her actions. She must use her flying ears to make her way to a police station, and only when she turns herself in will the magic of the jinx be broken. For a few seconds, she will become a teenage witch again, but she will then have to serve five months in jail. To break the jinx forever, she must be arrested and face the consequences.
