Mitch is a complete egotist who happily abuses the company's technology to serve his own personal needs and constantly talks down to his coworkers. He also repeatedly used the mind-wipe technology to get food without paying, and once mind-wiped Five because Five beat him in a gaming tournament. Mitch is shown to care more about winning than the victims of Glitch attacks, as seen when Five's friend Casino was infected by a Possessor type Glitch. Despite his antagonistic and selfish demeanor, he has referred to Five as a friend and allowed Ridley to leave Hinobi without a mind-wipe.

When Earth is targeted by Megatron and his Predacons, Optimus Prime and his Autobots prepare for their coming by installing themselves in secret among human society, masquerading as everyday vehicles used by humankind with no knowledge of their true nature. When Megatron strikes and kidnaps famous scientist Dr. Kenneth Onishi, the Autobots ally with his son Koji to rescue him before Megatron can pry from his mind the truth about an ancient secret hidden somewhere on Earth. After successfully re-energizing his ailing craft, the Megastar, Megatron rips the first clue from Doctor Onishi's mind, and tracks the location of an ancient Cybertronian O-Part, only to lose it to the Autobots. Incensed by failure, Megatron recovers six Autobot protoforms from a crashed spaceship and brainwashes them into the Decepticons, led by the dark clone of Optimus Prime, Scourge. These new warriors prove much tougher opponents for the Autobots, who then have to deal with attacks from their own side when Optimus Prime's embittered brother, Ultra Magnus, arrives on Earth to steal the Matrix from Prime. Realizing the Matrix can be shared between them, the brothers put aside their differences and gain the power to combine into Omega Prime, as well as using the Matrix's power to give the Autobot Brothers new super-charged bodies. Fearful of losing his position to Scourge, the bumbling Sky-Byte accidentally frees Doctor Onishi when he attempts to use the scientist to locate all the remaining missing O-Parts. Onishi is then able to help the Autobots gather all the O-Parts, which together form a map that points the way to Fortress Maximus, an ancient Cybertronian battle station hidden on Earth for untold ages and controlled by the will of human children. The awakening of Maximus in turn awakens Scourge's ambition, and he leaves Megatron to perish in a collapsing temple so that he can take command for himself. Megatron, however, is transformed into the more-powerful Galvatron andputsdown scourge

At some point during the Great War, Sky-Byte ignited a supernova that wiped out seven civilizations and countless star systems, but he was thought to have been caught in the same nova and destroyed. In truth, he had survived and found himself pursued by Jetfire, who was intent on finishing the villain once and for all. Their battles throughout space left numerous star systems devoid of life, until by chance both combatants discovered Earth. Detecting the Ark, Sky-Byte attacked the vessel until confronted by Optimus Prime, who claimed Jetfire was long dead. Disbelieving, Sky-Byte made his way to the Nemesis, where he was warmly greeted by Megatron. Despite generously offering the other Decepticons the chance to join in on the dismemberment of Jetfire (even offering Megatron Jetfire's head), the shark was disappointed when Megatron declined due to being focused on recovering the Allspark. Shortly after leaving the Nemesis, Sky-Byte was ambushed by Jetfire and the two knocked each other out. Sky-Byte recovered to find himself confronted by Starscream, in possession of the Allspark. Accepting the Seeker's offer of help, Sky-Byte gained a suit of spark armor that granted him a drill arm and allowed him to tunnel through the ground. Using this armor, he successfully captured Optimus Prime in an attempt to lure Jetfire out of hiding. Jetfire had meanwhile captured Megatron, and both rivals agreed to meet at a location of the Decepticon leader's choosing. The venue turned out to be an arena, and with both Jetfire and Sky-Byte equipped with spark armor the battle grew intense. Sky-Byte ultimately got the worst of it and would have been terminated had Jetfire not decided getting a wounded Optimus to safety was more important than finishing Sky-Byte. As a battered Sky-Byte pulled himself up, Megatron demanded the location of Starscream and the Allspark at fusion cannon-point. The breadth and depth of his knowledge is monotonically increasing, and there is a very high statistical correlation between his discoveries and the value they bring to the Autobots. While it is obvious to even the most casual observer that Perceptor is unrivaled in metallurgy, electrical engineering, and concomitant subfields of Cybertronian physiology, these abilities only constitute an inaccurate approximation of his unquenchable thirst for knowledge; to wit: his facility with all manners of scientific inquiry and analysis asymptotically approaches infinity. Through dedicated empirical analysis subject to many rounds of peer review, Perceptor has acknowledged that there is an inverse relationship between his near-continual use of scientific terminology and the listener's ability or willingness to understand him. There is also some limited outlier data that perhaps suggests that his listeners experience ephemeral bouts of frustration due to what is erroneously perceived to be a ponderous manner of speaking vis-a-vis employment of a more remedial discourse. Perceptor hypothesizes that, in his implicit joviality, his tendency towards precision may blind him to the potential nonexistence of the universality of his extensive vocabulary.

Ironhide is an Autobot and later Maximal from the Generation 1 continuity family. (thumbnail) Properly pronounced "Arn-hahhhd". Ironhide is one of the oldest and toughest Autobots, and has been on Optimus Prime's team for a long time. "They don't make them like they used to" is an apt description of Ironhide—he's yesterday's model, but he's built to last. Gruff and ornery, he prefers actions to words, and dislikes talk for talk's sake. (He wouldn't enjoy being paired up with Bluestreak.) But though he may be rough around the edges, he's still optimistic and upbeat. The upside to being through more than your share of trouble means trouble ain't so big a scare anymore. Ironhide's most distinctive ability is the water gun, a weapon which can generate and shoot a liquid of virtually any type. Liquid nitrogen is historically a favorite, but there have been acids, mortar, and more. His vehicle mode sometimes splits into his robot and a separate component. In some universes, he can combine with his fellow Autobots to form Optimus Maximus or Betatron. In other timelines, he will survive the Great War, joining forces with other Autobot veterans to form Magnaboss.
