The Glaistig (Glash-tick) is a creature from Scottish mythology. Her appearance is that of a beautiful woman with blonde hair whose lower half is that of a goat. Hiding this lower goat half is a long green dress, from which the Glaistig gets the nickname "Maighdean Uaine" (Might-jen Oo-an-yuh) or "Green Maiden" In some tales, she is a protector of deer, guarding them from overhunting, or of cattle, watching over them in exchange for offerings.
