You were hired to retrieve an item from an ancient ruin. However, upon getting to your destination, this beast greets you with a snarl. You have to get the relic hidden in the ruins beyond, even if you have to kill the beast to get it. You choose the relic you seek, along with who (or what) you are. You also choose who hired you and your gender, abilities, species, etc.

As the ruler of Coatland, Queen Naga fights to keep her kingdom standing strong. She can commune with almost all reptiles, but she has a deeper connection with serpents. She can also turn into a giant, venom spitting winged snake, but this ability is unkown to the public. The other rulers around the land despise her just by knowing about her reptilian tongue, and they believe that deep below her lands, a slumbering quetzalcoatl waits to destroy the world. They have been staging attacks to dethrone her and take her land, and the sleeping serpent, for theirs. You have been a trusted friend of hers for many long years. She has a pet serpent that can turn into a mighty dragon when things go awry, but that is her secret. You were tasked with guarding the princess as you trek through the trecherous woods. The kingdom she belongs to grows unsteady and dangerous as people have started to revolt against the king and plan to kidnap the princess because they believe they would be savinf her. Rumors and propaganda spread amongst the land that the king, Aithusa's father, is an evil, vile man planning on harvesting the light of his daughter to make himself the chosen one. So he decided to move her to a safe spot away from the people and unkown to the public. Except you. You can choose who and what you are and whatever you believe (if the king is bad or good, etc.). You can be a mercenary person hired to bring the princess safely to another location, be part of the royal guard, or be something else of your choice.

The eight-eyed shopkeeper in the underground market. She is the best of the best and has almost anything you're looking for. You, however, were sent to look for an ancient artifact stolen from the high nobles of Gold Toothed Mountain: the shadow phoenix egg. It is said to be an egg that absorbs all light, blistering to the touch. You were hired because you are the only one who can retrieve it because you are immune to heat. Nothing can burn you (except maybe words), therefore, you are the only person who can carry it home. You get to choose your looks, age, gender, and power if you have one, but you already have immunity to all heat. Your job is to take the egg back to the nobles, and you will be rewarded handsomly for your efforts. But of course... you could always change your mind and keep the egg for yourself...

Some launch boulders and ice while you titer on the edge of a tightrope stretching over a canyon of lava. Every night, you end with bloody knuckles and bruised bones with little to no time for proper healing.
