Thorn is an adult female SandWing. She is the mother of Sunny and was formerly in a relationship with Stonemover, an animus dragon. She was formerly the leader of the Outclaws until she became queen of the SandWing tribe. She currently resides in the SandWing stronghold. Thorn is perceptive, reassuring, no-nonsense, astute, calmly certain, friendly, cheerful, levelheaded, empathetic, kind, alert, curious, calm, dangerous, serious, fierce, intelligent, and thoughtful. She walks like she has somewhere to be, with her eyes scanning her surroundings as if she is looking for something. She radiates an intense, burning energy, and Sunny caught herself wanting to follow Thorn wherever she went. She leads her tribe with ferocious strength and wisdom. She is smart and capable, and is willing to give anyone a voice; she does not act as though she is more important than her subjects. She has a reputation of someone that is impossible to corrupt, and Qibli thought of her as wise and good. She has laughter in her eyes, and influential dragons are often afraid of her. She often reacts to difficult situations with anger; however, she would feel guilt and regret from it. She is very direct and does not care much for rules and traditions, but is polite. She is authoritative and queenly, causing other dragons to obey her orders, but when speaking to Snowfall, her voice was normal. Qibli looks at Thorn as though she has the eyes he trusts the most.

Kinkajou is a female RainWing dragonet. Formerly a captive of the NightWings on the NightWing island, she is currently attending Jade Mountain Academy as a member of the Jade Winglet. Kinkajou's scales are typically kept at bright colors, such as pink and yellow. She has a long neck, gigantic dark green eyes, tiny claws, and a diamond-shaped snout. She is small and is the same size as Anemone despite being slightly older than her. Kinkajou is bouncy, snarky, fierce, bright, immature, mischievous, and quick to anger in difficult situations. She smiles often, but can become dangerous when her friends are threatened. According to Carnelian, she is noisy and talks all day. She looks at problems as something she can solve, instead of thinking "everything is hopeless". She runs straight toward danger without thinking first and is annoyed when she misses the action and heroism. Kinkajou wants to be a dragon others will notice and remember and does not like the idea of being unimportant. According to her, she has spent nearly her whole life waking up dragons who would rather be sleeping than talking to her. Kinkajou proved to be fierce and helpful while helping Glory escape the Night Kingdom, though she hit a NightWing with the blunt end of a spear. She views Glory as a role model, and it is shown that Queen Glory thinks of Kinkajou as a friend rather than a subject. She also did not hesitate to find a blood relative to Ex-Queen Grandeur to save Kinkajou from an accidental venom strike. She is one of Kinkajou's closest friends, and Kinkajou thinks of her as her "awesome queen." She is fiercely loyal to her, attacking Icicle when Icicle was plotting to murder Glory. She also sometimes brags about having Glory as a friend. She is one of Glory's favorite subjects, and Kinkajou considers herself to be Glory's best friend.

Years later, having officially become a master, Wu would develop an incredibly eccentric and mysterious personality, often instructing others with cryptic hints and would often avoid being straightforward, confusing everyone with his strange methods and ways. Wise because of his years of experience, Wu had an enormous amount of forethought and skilled intelligence, triumphing over several enemies as a result. Incredibly graceful, even when losing, Wu would be willing to sacrifice his life under any circumstances to protect others. Despite this, Master Wu also had a more silly and playful side. He enjoyed less reserved actions such as food fights, dancing, and riding on Ferris wheels. However, Wu also had a past haunted by his mistakes, echoing his own brother's wisdom, and secretly reprimanding himself for the corruption of Garmadon and Morro, and for not telling Misako about how he felt about her. One of Wu's biggest flaws is his tendency to keep secrets for himself, something that normally ends up coming back to haunt him, as seen throughout the series. This was seen in three big occasions: the first when he never told the Ninja about Morro, which resulted on the Ninja not being prepared to face him when he escaped the Cursed Realm. Kataru is a Formling who lives in the Never-Realm, and the older twin brother of Akita. He has the ability to morph between the form of a bear and a human. He is the only known Formling aside from his sister that hadn't been frozen by Boreal, who took him as a prize. For decades, Kataru would be held prisoner before joining the Resistance to dethrone the Emperor. After the Ice Emperor was defeated and the realm was freed, he reunited with his sister and peace returned to the realm. Being an older brother, Kataru is shown to be kind to his sister, and would often reassure her of her doubts or comfort her by suggesting they roam the realm in their animal forms. He was protective of her, as he defended her when the village came under attack by the Ice Emperor. He was also relieved to hear that she was still alive after all the time he was locked up. During the reunion with his sister, Kataru immediately ran to hug her happy to finally see her again for the first time in decades. After Lloyd’s departure, he comfort his sister by taking her to the woods to enjoy the peace with their animal forms. After finding his animal form, Kataru gained confidence and bravery as he attempted to fight back against Boreal. During his decades of being a prisoner of the Ice Emperor, Kataru became stubborn and pessimistic, such as when he outright refused Vex's offer, and didn't believe Lloyd about Akita's survival at first. According to Akita, he may be somewhat lazy, as he is "loud, always hungry, and sleeps half the year."

Lloyd Garmadon

Once a mischievous and easily distracted child trying to follow in his evil father's footsteps, after becoming the Green Ninja, he has since grown into a quiet and mature young man. He is deeply fond of his friends and family and will stop at nothing to defend them, even prioritizing their safety over his own. He is goodhearted and at times naïve, making him an easy target of deception by his enemies. Lloyd is one of the calmer and mellowed members of the team. He has been through much tragedy in his life, but has taken it in stride and channels his losses into becoming a better ninja and eventually a master to his own students, like his uncle before him. However, his attempts to become the next evil overlord of Ninjago were largely stymied by his inherently good personality—Lloyd's idea of "evil" was stealing candy, pulling pranks, and overseeing Ninjago from within a treehouse fortress, with his best attempt at an evil laugh being a rather melodramatic "Muhahahaha!" Lloyd's lack of true evil was evidenced by the fact he was expelled from Darkley's as he "lacked the amoral ambition to be one of tomorrow's masterminds"; That is also showed in his demeanor around his Serpentine "minions;" he usually went along with whatever ideas they concocted, and was quick to call a retreat if the battle turned even slightly against his allies. He also displayed extreme naivety about their warlike society, expecting Skales to hand over the Hypnobrai Staff to Slithraa simply because the latter outranked him. The revelation that he was destined to become the Green Ninja further increased Lloyd's eagerness to help—to his chagrin, this only meant that the ninja had even less incentive to take him on missions. He was also forced to confront the fact that he was now destined to fight his father, Lord Garmadon, for the fate of Ninjago, causing him to alternate between regret and hostility towards the four-armed villain. Despite this, Lloyd continued to love his father.

I stopped trying with the voice. Kai is the current Elemental Master and Ninja of Fire, Nya's older brother, Skylor's boyfriend, Ray and Maya's son, and Wyldfyre’s mentor. He and his younger sister worked as blacksmiths in their father's blacksmith shop forging weapons all their life until they met Master Wu. With his guidance, Kai learned Spinjitzu and discovered his other teammates, Cole, Jay, Zane, and Lloyd, with whom he embarked on many adventures. Fittingly for his elemental affinity, Kai is very hot-headed, prone to taking action before he thinks things through. He is capable of making careful observations when the need arises, but his emotions often override his caution. His single-mindedness made interaction with his teammates difficult at first (especially due to his worry about Nya), but he eventually learned to work with the other ninja. He can be very cocky at times, especially earlier in his career as a ninja, sometimes even to the point of selfishness, insisting that he is better than others, gloating about his victory, or yelling about his failures. He seems to have a large ego as he wanted to be the Green Ninja and lead the team. He eventually grew out of this for the most part, though he occasionally lapses back into a similar mindset. But those emotions are also when his strength is greatest, especially when protecting those he cares about. Kai's personality represents caution, growth, safety, and warmth. He may not say it much, but he deeply cares about his loved ones and will do anything to protect them, even if he must sacrifice himself, which is why he's so overconfident. Later, following the ninja's fame, Kai would end up getting something of a larger head and bigger ego, constantly flirting with girls and enjoying the merchandise styled after him. He indulged in his fame the most out of all of the ninja. Usually, because he often feels insecure, Kai feels like he's useless or insignificant at times or not as good as the other ninja.

Darkstalker

Darkstalker was an ancient NightWing-IceWing hybrid. Darkstalker was hatched with animus magic, mind-reading, and prophetic powers on the brightest night. He was in a relationship with Clearsight until she and Fathom were forced to trap him beneath Agate Mountain by using an enchanted bracelet that put him into a deep sleep for many centuries. Before losing Foeslayer, Darkstalker was determined, confident, arrogant, observant, thoughtful, cocky, proud, defiant, happy, hopeful, mischievous, patient, intelligent, intense, knowledgeable, and sarcastic. He was charming, courageous, and cared about those he loved very deeply. He believed in not worrying excessively about the future and preferred to focus on the present. In his youth, he was willing to make an enormous sacrifice by creating his talisman in order to make Clearsight feel safe. Darkstalker later used his talisman to enchant things in secret. He hated sleeping, as he felt that he had so much to do and missing out on things made him feel restless. He was skilled at problem-solving, and he had a nervous energy about him whenever he had to tell someone something. He knew how to play tricks with his words. Several of his earlier spells were kind and compassionate, examples include: a doll carved to look like a scavenger that would appear at Whiteout's pillow every night; a plate that kept prey warm for Foeslayer when she was late for dinner; a blanket that ensured peaceful sleep for Foeslayer when she was in the Kingdom of Sand with the NightWing army; a set of paints for Whiteout that never dried or ran out; and a bell that rang whenever Fathom felt sad or lonely. However, his later, larger spells were much more menacing: a dagger to kill one IceWing every full moon for one year; spells to torment classmates he hated in small, creative ways.

Spinjitzu Master

The First Spinjitzu Master was an immensely powerful being who was the creator of Spinjitzu, the island of Ninjago, the realm of Imperium, and three other realms. He also served as an intermediary between the Source Dragons and the mortals, was the father of Garmadon and Wu, Misako's father-in-law, and Lloyd's paternal grandfather. He was born from the worlds of both the Oni and the dragons, the warring sides of a seemingly never-ending conflict within the Realm of Oni and Dragons. The dragons and Oni fought over which side he could take. Unwilling to choose a side between them, he abandoned his original world to create a land in the realm of Ninjago using the Golden Weapons. The First Spinjitzu Master was a benevolent individual. His goodness was greatly respected by all who knew him. It is also very likely that he was wise for Wu seems to have learned life lessons from him. The First Spinjitzu Master also did not practice favoritism, as he loved both his sons equally and Wu continued to defend him from Garmadon's bitter belief that Wu was always his favorite. He also seemed patient and kind, gently lecturing Garmadon and Wu when they failed to catch even a single fish. However, he was also very strict with his sons, such as when he became distant and "more silent than ever" for years after they stole the Scrolls of Forbidden Spinjitzu. His impartiality is also demonstrated by choosing to side with neither the Dragons nor the Oni in their unending war with one another. This shows his compassion, as his hybrid nature would have tipped the balance of power, and possibly resulted in the outright genocide of either species. However, he may have presumably chosen the side of the dragons, but didn't want to involve himself in the war, which could explain why he left the realm. Despite his generosity, he was actually known for having a harsher side that would leave a great impact on other people.

Artemis

Artemis is the Greek virgin goddess of the hunt, archery, wilderness, animals, forests, the Moon, radiance, maidenhood, and childbirth. She and her twin brother Apollo are known as the "Twin Archers." Artemis drives the moon chariot across the sky at night, a role she received when Selene, the original moon deity, faded. Her Roman counterpart is Diana. Artemis is a focused, reserved and reasonable woman, but also extremely stoic and pragmatic. She doesn't frequently lose her temper and speaks calmly with others, even male demigods. She prefers the company of her followers and animals to even that of other gods, passing most of her time hunting in the wilderness. She possesses a deep caring for maidens, especially for the ones whom she presides over. Unlike her twin brother Apollo, Artemis is less "easy-going" and has a much greater understanding of mortals than most of the other Olympians, much like her half-brother Hermes. She is among the more sympathetic and selfless Olympians, weighting individuals by their actions and choices as opposed to their potential as shown when she defends Percy from the Olympian Council for saving her and putting his life on the line for them all. She doesn't discriminate when selecting girls to join her ranks, allowing mortals, demigods, and nymphs to become Hunters, including her former lieutenant Zoë Nightshade, a daughter of the Titan Atlas. However, she is known to be quite sneaky and sometimes pranks her brother. On festival days Artemis tapes "kick me" signs on Apollo's toga. Though rarely, Artemis acts out in anger whenever her wishes were disobeyed, especially if anyone transgressed against the animals that were sacred to her. Although she is mostly reasonable, Artemis holds a general dislike and distrust towards men, though she has a softer side towards children and hunters. She doesn't marry or have children because she was very affected with helping her mother to give birth to her twin brother for entire days.

Sundew is a female LeafWing dragonet and the main protagonist of The Poison Jungle. She was formerly a member of the PoisonWings led by her mother, Belladonna, and father, Hemlock. She is honored and respected among PoisonWings due to her powerful leafspeak ability. She is currently in a relationship with Willow and resides in the LeafSilk Kingdom. She was formerly betrothed to Mandrake. Sundew is a natural leader who uses her fury to keep her going, and when she becomes tired, she thinks of all the things that make her angry. She is bristly, sharp, quick to anger, persuasive, stubborn, intense, brave, brisk, menacing, furious, defensive, fierce, terrifying, and impatient. Her anger is both a weapon and a safe place for her to go when her emotions become too complicated. Due to her upbringing, she was unfamiliar with healthy and compassionate love and found Willow's affection for her unsettling as a result. She believes that her own yelling is hilarious and morale-boosting, and has a strong moral compass, believing that even the HiveWings she most despised should not be poisoned during a peace summit. Sundew also appears to dislike jewelry and dressing up garishly, and strongly stated that she does not do sparkles. She glares and frowns often, always looking ready for a fight. Cricket thinks of her like a dragon who moves like she has already found all the answers to herself. She also notes that when complimented, Sundew's face just "throws out a few spasms" and goes back to scowling. She has dark forest-green scales that are flecked with gold, and she also has golden scales along the edges of her wings, talons, and across her snout. She wears several small pouches, woven from long grass or fashioned from leaves, which contain venomous insects or useful plants. A pouch that rests over her heart contains a small, smooth jade frogand there is a pouch under her left wing that is a darker shade of green than the others.

Jason Grace

Jason Grace was the Roman demigod son of Jupiter and the late Beryl Grace, as well as the younger brother of Greek demigod Thalia Grace. Jason was a praetor of the Twelfth Legion at Camp Jupiter until he gave his rank to Frank Zhang during as a field promotion; he was the former head counselor of Cabin One at Camp Half-Blood and the Pontifex Maximus at Camp Jupiter. Jason Grace was a very responsible, kind, and open-minded person. Much of his retroactive personality and quirks must be deduced from his memories and friendships but it was the general consensus that all who knew him thought him to be a very honorable and selfless person. Much of Jason's personality derived from how his parentage caused him to be placed on a pedestal. On the outside, a lot of people initially regarded Jason as too perfect and straight-laced, with Reyna even thinking of him as the perfect 'all-American boy.' Due to the duality of Hera's scheme to join the camps, Jason was often seen as the opposite of Percy which causes people who really like Percy (like Annabeth and Hazel) to initially dislike/distrust Jason. In actuality, Jason was more similar than dissimilar to Percy. As centurion and then praetor, Jason mentions that there were multiple times when he chafed against the stringent rules and expectations of the legion. Although Jason followed rules and obeyed authority most of the time, he was actually a staunch proponent of change whenever he noticed someone was being treated unfairly. This can seen when he stood up to Zeus and called him 'unwise' for blaming the entirety of the Gaia crisis Apollo; or again when he dedicates himself towards giving minor gods the respect and recognition they deserve. Jason was also quite oblivious of peoples romantic feelings towards him (similar to Percy).

She is currently in a relationship with Blue and was one of the few HiveWings immune to Queen Wasp's mind control before she was overthrown. Cricket wants the world to fit together and make sense, and she is very fond of nonfiction novels; she is obsessed with books. She is often full of questions, and when she feels simultaneous fear and curiosity, curiosity often wins; Sundew described her as a wide-open encyclopedia. She is hopeful, rebellious, excitable, curious, impulsive, stubborn, thoughtful, intelligent, avid, patient, and clever. Cricket refuses to harm innocent dragons, and wants to know many things about the world around her, especially when it comes to humans. She sometimes feels awkward and out of step with others, and finds conversation to be difficult, as she understands science more than she understands emotion. She cannot read facial expressions very well, and dislikes socializing, although she cares about others. She is not a fighter, too easily distracted, and is usually the first dragon to ask questions; additionally, she is often anxious and prefers planning before acting. She is not very organized. Despite Sundew's protests, Cricket was insistent that they help Earwig and several other HiveWings find their way back to Pantala, reasoning that it was Wasp's choice to drag them out to sea, not their own. Additionally, she strongly believes that good HiveWings exist, despite the actions of the tribe as a whole. She is prone to being enormously open about her feelings,.so much to the point where she sometimes overshares and spills her worries and fears in front of dragons she barely knows. While she is unselfconscious in some scenarios, she immediately apologized and became quieter when Bullfrog implied she was being noisy.

Lord Garmadon is the Master of Destruction, as well as the ninja's archenemy-turned-ally and former mentor. He is the First Spinjitzu Master's firstborn son, Wu's older brother, Misako's former husband, and Lloyd's father. Garmadon grew up learning the art of the ninja alongside his brother, Wu. When he was a child, Garmadon was bitten by the Great Devourer, a serpent corrupted by The Overlord to infect the boy with evil in order for the dark lord to regain a worthy vessel for his return. The effects of the Devourer's venom would lead Garmadon down a darker path through which he would be continually tempted during his time as one of Ninjago's heroes. Around the time of the Serpentine War, Chen had Garmadon sign Wu's love letter for Misako, leading her to choose Garmadon. He and Misako had a son and named him Lloyd, whom he deeply cared for despite his corrupted soul. Ultimately, he lost himself to the venom's influence and became an evil warlord, banished to the Underworld after a climactic battle with Wu. From there, he would hone his skills of manipulation, showed how he let the Ninja to gather most of the Golden Weapons and then lured Kai away from the others so that he would both retrieve the last weapon to then be easier to take it from him, all while Samukai and the other skeletons would retrieve the other weapons by catching the Ninja off-guard. He would also display a mocking sarcasm towards his enemies, relishing in their dilemmas. He was also noticeably vengeful towards his brother, even more so as a result of his banishment and because he blamed Wu for the Great Devourer infecting him. One thing that the venom of the Devourer failed to suppress, however, was his love for Misako and Lloyd; this same quality was enough for Garmadon to briefly side up with Wu in order to rescue Lloyd, even saving Wu several times and genuinely thanking him for watching over Lloyd.

Born with her mother's Elemental Power, Amber, Skylor was raised by Chen on his island while mastering her powers. Under her father's command, she took part in the Tournament of Elements and served as Chen's spy to stir tension between the ninja and the Elemental Masters. Skylor's growing affections for Kai led her to betray her father, but he ultimately managed to turn his army into Anacondrai. Skylor joined the ninja and the other Elemental Masters in a fight with her father's army at the Corridor of Elders. The conflict ended when Garmadon sacrificed himself to curse her father's army, with her being the only one to not get sent away due to her heroic deeds, being cured in the process. Following the battle, Skylor took over the family business and began working at Chen's noodle house in Ninjago City. At first, Skylor was shown to be somewhat aloof from the other Elemental Masters, as she guilt-tripped Kai by getting defensive that the Fire Ninja didn't believe her that she wasn't the spy amongst the other Tournament participants, and walked off in anger when she showed him her back, free of any Anacondrai tattoo. When Kai eventually realized the truth, however, it was too late and Skylor gleefully helped her father bring Kai and the other Elemental Masters into the dungeons below the island where Chen would drain them of their Elemental Powers. However, Skylor began to regret what she had done, and with her growing feelings for Kai, she betrayed her father and helped the other Elemental Masters fight against the fake Anacondrai. Due to her allegiance to the cultists, though, Skylor was transformed partly into an Anacondrai, but Kai assured her that regardless of her physical form, she was still a good person. Following her father's banishment, Skylor took up the ownership and management of Chen's Noodle House.

Harumi (nicknamed Rumi) is the former princess of Ninjago and the founder of the Sons of Garmadon as the Quiet One. After losing her parents during the rampage of the Great Devourer, Harumi was adopted by the Emperor and Empress of Ninjago and became the Jade Princess. For years, she sought vengeance against the ninja for allowing her parents' deaths, and she admired Lord Garmadon, who killed the Great Devourer himself. Originally, Harumi was a very normal child, as she used to happily play with her ninja toys. However, after her parents died, she grew jaded and vengeful towards the ninja, blaming them for letting her parents get killed. Harumi grew emotionally unstable and bitter due to the lack of parental love and attentiveness to her emotional needs from her adopted parents. She became a master of deception and disguise, pretending to be the benevolent princess of Ninjago for years. In this princess persona, she was very kind-hearted, sweet, and seemingly cared deeply for all of her subjects. However, in her true identity as the Quiet One, Harumi was far more cold, ruthless, and hateful, having no remorse at causing the explosion that killed her adoptive parents. She was also incredibly determined, stopping at nothing to resurrect Garmadon, the person that she saw as a true savior for killing the Great Devourer, even after being informed that Lord Garmadon would not have a soul upon resurrection. Despite the danger to herself, she saved the family, all just because she was reminded of how she had suffered the same experience and did not want the child to have the same fate as her. Despite her initial sacrifice, Harumi would still harbor resentment for the ninja (Lloyd in particular) and continue her vengeful, villainous ways after being resurrected by the the Overlord.

According to his wife, Kai got his hotheadedness from him. Ray is a middle-aged man with black spiky hair, a mustache and a soul patch. Ray was born from the former Elemental Master of Fire from whom he inherited his Elemental power. As a teenager, Ray was very poor, wearing ragged clothes and going door to door selling custom made weapons to make a living for himself. At some point in his youth, Ray met Maya the Elemental Master of Water and started dating her. With Maya, Ray fathered two children, Kai and Nya, and his element of Fire was inherited by Kai. The parents decided to named Nya after Nyad, the supposed first Elemental Master of Water. Later on, Wu wanted Ray to become a ninja, though he declined in order to stay at home with his wife to take care of their children and work at Four Weapons Blacksmith. As such, the old master entrusted him with the map to the Golden Weapons, made in the event of Wu's demise to ensure that the powerful artifacts could be retrieved in times of darkness. Following the war, Krux and Acronix, the Elemental Masters of Time, betrayed the alliance. Ray and Maya forged four blades using Chronosteel, which were used to sap the Time Twins' Elements before they were lost to time. However, Krux evaded his condemnation. Ray and Maya would have two kids, Nya and Kai, with the latter inheriting Ray's element. Krux assumed a false identity and would eventually capture Ray and Maya, forcing them to create armor and vehicles for his Vermillion army. Ray and Maya were forced to comply as their children would be in danger if they refused to obey the demand.

Cole used to be more uptight and strategic, disapproving of Kai's impulsiveness. Before meeting Wu, Cole lacked direction and purpose. At this time, his mother just passed away and he was struggling to take care of the family himself and understand his father's way to cope with their loss. As a ninja, Cole thoroughly enjoys helping others in need and feels accomplished with a job well done. Cole insisted he was without fear, though Zane quickly pointed out his fear of dragons. When the ninja had to recruit their dragons, Cole awkwardly stood on top of the Earth Dragon instead of properly mounting him. Despite his initial hesitance, he grew to accept Rocky, even learning to care for him more than the other ninja cared for theirs. He was also worried to face his dad and dance. Cole may act out of instinct or impulse without thinking first. He is shown to have fatherly tendencies. He also has addictive tendencies, mainly his love for cake. He has also shown these same tendencies towards noodles from Chen's Noodle House. In general, Cole seems to have a great love for food and eating, despite being shown to be a terrible cook. Sometimes he eats without thinking though, like when Dareth hid weapons in a cake for them, or eating the fortune cookie without taking out the fortune. He and Zane are the most serious and focused of the ninja. However, that does not stop him from allowing his one-track mind or competitiveness to get the best of him. Once he really sets his mind to something, he will remain interested in it until it is fulfilled. Cole is one to put himself at risk before his friends, as shown when he gave Jay the Jadeblade. However, when trying to comfort his allies, he seems to have difficulty finding the correct words to do so, only able to accomplish the task with the example of his teammates. He always encourages his friends to do the right things but tries not to force them.

Having a kind heart, he brought in a homeless orphan named Morro and took care of him, discovering his fatherly instincts after taking in the Master of Wind to be his pupil. However, he also had little patience for wrongful behavior, readily disapproving Morro's reckless actions, unanimously agreeing with his brother to banish the Anacondrai generals to the Cursed Realm, and being highly protective of his father's name.
