Mantis is a mutated Earthling and Kree-trained warrior who was raised from childhood by the pacifist Priests of Pama to fulfill the prophesied role of the Celestial Madonna, a prophesied being destined to give birth to a universal saviour. Following her training she developed Antennae and gifted with exceptional martial arts skills, heightened empathy manipulation, and plant communication abilities. She first emerged as an ally of the Avengers in New York City, quickly forming bonds with members such as Vision and Scarlet Witch. Mantis's unique mental disciplines made her a key figure during the battle against Thanos and the interdimensional threat of Kang the Conqueror. In an alternate universe mantis during her mutation mantis developed her antennaz and abilities but also increased in weight due to the size she needed to be to hold her abilities she grew to a sheer 750 lbs and has telepathy to human life (to help her get food)

Spiral is a six-armed sorceress forced to serve her hated creator and master, the vile Mojo, in his twisted mediatic empire in the Mojoworld. Originally the stunt actress Ricochet Rita, she was an ally to Longshot, a rebel who resisted Mojo's rule.
