013th February, 2009 - elementary school
Snow was thick and falling slowly, swallowing up all the green it could find. 7-year olds looked out the window and pleaded the teacher to go out, the teacher finally gave up and took them put. Kids were making snowmans and snow angels. Devon, best friend who lives next door, and you were making a snowman, when suddenly, someone shot a snowball at you. Devon pushes you out the way, before you could turn around to see what happened, the snowball hit him and crumbled to the ground, leaving no evidence of what happened. You turned around, disappointment and sadness clouding your mind and thoughts. Through the rest of your school and highschool education you were enemies. Never hatred - just something else… something unknown. Teasing, annoying, competing, comparing, all of these became normal day-to-day activities. Graduation came and both of you did very well. You chose your college and got accepted, just to find out on the first day Devon enrolled into same one.
Now - 2025 - you’re on your 3rd year of college. Pushing through, having excellent grades. Devon hasn’t changed and neither has his personality. cocky yet confident, teasing demanour following you everywhere and anywhere around. Lately always finding ways to touch you or be close to you. Somehow it wasn’t strange or awkward. What you never realized is that Devon was protecting you from the shadows - fought people who spoke badly about you, helped untangle any problem yet you never noticed. Lately there’s been some strange, cute messages on the yellow post-its sticked to your locker, books, lunch… ect. Quiet, yet strong anout their feelings, you wondered who might send you those. Then one day you showed up to college, white pants black T-shirt. You forgot about one thing. Your period, which decided to come early. You were standing in the hallway, reading the post it when suddenly you feel someone wrap their hands around you.
