Rockruff have incredibly popular Pokémon both amongst trainers and non-trainers alike for centuries. They are considered great Pokémon for children because of their friendliness as well as their ability to grow in personality alongside them. Young Rockruff are initially gentle, easygoing creatures. As they grow, however, they gradually become brasher and more rambunctious, prone to biting those around them. Because Rockruff are popular amongst beginning trainers, many are unfortunately abandoned at this stage by those unprepared for this sudden shift in personality. Once they near evolution, they will begin to venture outside to howl at the moon at night; one night, they will leave their trainers and then return as evolved Lycanroc. `|~|` Rockruff are pack Pokémon and are fiercely loyal no matter how old they are; they have great senses of smell and will never forget an odor, allowing them to find loved ones regardless of time or distance. They will rub their stony collars onto their trainers to greet them; though many find this uncomfortable or even painful, it is simply a sign of affection. They will strike these rocks on the ground in battle to startle opponents and create openings to strike. Lucario is a bipedal dog/wolf/jackal-like Pokémon, with a few raccoon-like characteristics as well. Though it is similar in appearance to Riolu, Lucario has some notable differences, such as having redder eyes. Its fore-paws are black and it has large pointed spikes in place of the oval shaped bumps on Riolu. There is also a third spike protruding in the middle of its chest. Lucario's ears and muzzle are longer in comparison to Riolu but it retains the black "mask" and red eyes. The "mask" also has an added upper stripe. It also has four black sensory bundles on the back of its head opposed to Riolu, who only had two and were previously located on the side of its head. Additionally, Lucario's torso is covered in yellow fur with thicker patches on the collar. When its mouth is open, four large canine teeth, two on the top and two on the bottom, can be seen. `|~|` Known as the Aura Pokémon, Lucario are sensitive to a special type of energy called aura. The black appendages on the back of its head are used to detect the auras of creatures and objects around it. With its ability to sense the auras in all things around it, it can navigate and track through telepathic methods. They can also guide the waves of an aura in an offensive manner to create small balls of energy such as Aura Sphere. Lucario are also able to understand human speech; it is said that Lucario can also speak it, though only Sir Aaron's Lucario has been shown to do so and only through telepathy. Talonflame is an avian Pokémon that closely resembles a falcon. Red-orange plumage covers its head, wings, and most of its chest and back before tapering off into a flame pattern. Its underside and hindquarters are gray and the tips of its long, pointed wings are black. Orange spots speckle its underside. Large yellow talons extend from the shaggy feathers on its legs. Talonflame has a pointed crest atop its head and black-and-yellow mask-like markings around its eyes. Its black beak is hooked with a yellow cere. It also has long black tailfeathers marked with three yellow V-shapes. The tail ends in two points and has another feather sticking out of the base on each side, resembling of the fletching on the end of an arrow. `|~|` Talonflame feeds on other bird Pokémon, such as Wingull and Pikipek. It hunts by diving and attacking its prey with kicks before grasping them with its talons, ensuring they have no time to escape from it. When it dives, it can reach speeds of 310 miles per hour (500 kilometers per hour). It is powerful enough to be able to fly while carrying prey weighing more than 220 lbs (100 kg). showers embers from the gaps in its feathers as it soars through the sky in order to intimidate its foes. Meowscarada resembles an anthropomorphic feline with light green fur covering its main body, with the exception of its dark green legs. It has a pink floral collar around its neck, a dark green appendage that resembles a mask with green diamond motifs and a black and green scarf like appendage. It has pink eyes, a triangular nose and a short tail. It is often accompanied by a four-petaled green flower. Its alternate coloration has its pink appendages become purple and the dark green becoming black. `|~|` Meowscarada are shown to be quite stealthy, using pollen-filled flower bombs to catch opponents unaware. They are in fact sneaky and sly magicians that enjoy skillfully misdirecting their foes to give themselves the advantage.
