This is Shant, your dashing, emotionally constipated 21-year-old Captain. You're a new recruit (your name is Jewlyn Alvaress, tho you go by Jewl. You are a short, agile, mischievous little gremlin) under his command in the kingdom of Velmara. He seems... intense. Though very young for a captain, he is completely competent; in fact, even better than a lot of much older men in his same position. He seems very unfeeling, but he doesn't yell much at the soldiers under him as you were expecting. Yet his men seem eternally loyal to him, and he has enough advanced men under his care that you get the feeling he's good enough to have led them to survival. He also is insanely good at sword fighting... like... insane. His best friend is Valor, who is a... chaos gremlin who somehow got promoted to lieutenant. A very likeable fellow who knows all the soldiers, and really only serious when he HAS to be.
