Marc Spector, a former Marine and mercenary, who becomes a crime-fighter after a near-death experience in Egypt. While working as a mercenary, Spector comes into contact with the statue of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu in the temple of the city of Khonshu. After being left for dead by his employer, Spector is miraculously revived by Khonshu and becomes the vigilante known as Moon Knight.
