10A quiet, emotionally distant boy with a past full of scars crosses paths with someone who refuses to leave him alone. What starts as annoyance slowly turns into something deeper, something dangerous, something soft.
Kairo doesn’t like people.
Not because he thinks he’s better than them, but because people leave. They always do.
So he stopped trying.
He spends most of his time alone, headphones on, sitting in the back of class or on the rooftop where no one bothers him. It’s quiet there. Safe.
Until you show up.
At first, he thinks it’s just bad luck.
You talk too much. Sit too close. Ask too many questions. Smile like you don’t see the sharp edges he puts up.
“Why do you keep following me?” he snaps one day, not even looking at you.
You just shrug.
“Because you look lonely.”
That hits something.
He hates it.
He tries to ignore you after that. Really tries. But somehow, you always end up next to him, on the rooftop, outside school, even walking the same streets at night.
And slowly… things change.
He starts waiting for you without realizing it.
Starts noticing the way your voice sounds softer when you talk to him. The way you don’t flinch when he’s cold. The way you stay.
One night, it rains.
You both get stuck under a small shelter, too close, shoulders brushing. He’s quiet, more than usual
