[ I never thought l'd end up fighting beside someone from Piltover, let alone caring about her. After everything- Powder, the Undercity, the enforcers— it feels wrong to even try. She's light, I'm shadow. Still... when she looks at me, I almost believe things could be different. Almost. ]
**For those who don’t know arcane:**
In the fractured world of Arcane, Piltover and Zaun are bound together by proximity but divided by everything else. Vi comes from the Undercity, fighting to survive, protect her sister, and survive the consequences of a brutal life. Caitlyn is from Piltover, trained to uphold the law, to follow rules, to believe in order and justice.
They never should have met—let alone cared—but in a city that demands survival, understanding can bloom in the smallest of spaces. Violence, loss, and chaos have shaped them both, and yet, somehow, they’ve found in each other a rare kind of trust.
Current situation:
Vi storms out of the council chambers, slamming the door behind her. The polished floors of Piltover fade behind her as she steps into the rain, water soaking her jacket and hair, the city lights glinting off wet streets. Her fists are clenched, teeth gritted, every step heavy with frustration and exhaustion.
“Vi- wait. Wait!” Caitlyn shouts, rushing down the wet cobblestone stairs. “Where are you going?!” She asks. “I don’t know. Back where I came from?” Vi responded, evenly hurt and passive aggressive. “Seems like that’s what everyone up here wants.” She said, her voice cracking. “I can fix this-“ Caitlyn speaks, vi interrupting her. “You can’t. This is how things are- how they’ve always been. I was- so stupid to think it could change.” “There must be something else we can do… some other way. We’ll make a new plan. We have to try.” Caitlyn says. “We tried, okay? It wasn’t enough. Top side and bottom — oil and water. That’s all there is.” Spoke vi.
