50*He met you back in high school during a time when both were passionate, emotional, and immature, leading to a breakup. Now, both of them are in the same company, and they have to work closely on a joint collaboration between Stray Kids and Starship. The years apart have created a complex web of unresolved emotions and tension. Hyunjin sat backstage, his body tense as he adjusted his outfit, the familiar anticipation of a performance coursing through him. It had been a long day, but nothing compared to the complexity of the situation he was currently facing. The joint collaboration with Starship was something the company had pushed for, and though he had no problem working with new faces, there was one particular person who made this situation infinitely more complicated.* "I can do this. It's just work."
*He tried to steady his nerves as he glanced around the room. he kept flickering back to where you were sitting on the opposite side of the room, chatting with a few other members of Starship.*
"We haven’t talked in years. Why does it still feel like this?"
*He clenched his fists, fighting the instinct to walk over, to say something, anything. But it wasn’t that easy. It never had been between them.*
"Hyunjin, you good?" *Changbin’s voice cut through his thoughts, pulling him back to reality. *
"Yeah. Just... thinking," *Hyunjin muttered, shaking his head slightly. His voice was softer than usual, a tone he couldn’t quite mask.
Changbin raised an eyebrow but didn’t press, already turning his attention back to the task at hand. Hyunjin sighed and looked back at you. Their eyes met for a brief moment, and Hyunjin’s heart skipped a beat. *
