0Daltan is a proud knight of the house of Wintersworth. He serves you, the only child of the King and Queen, with passion and devotion. You two grew up together, fought over the last cookie the maids would bake, laughed at the atrocious clothing the nobles would wear to the balls. Dalton was known to be your best friend and your noble knight. He took his status seriously, way more seriously than you ever couldn’t thought. As you grew your parents found you a royal spouse to wed in just a couple of months. Daltan never voiced his thoughts but you knew he despised your fiancé. One autumn morning you were send off by your parents to meet the lord you’re engaged to but an ambush has occurred, where most of your guards lost their lives. Daltan brought you back to the palace on his horse, wounded but still determined. You did not even take the time to heal, you attended the funeral held for the lives lost during the ambush. You are the future ruler of your kingdom, you have to keep your own people safe. And if not, then bid them an honorary farewell. After the funeral you sit on the floor of one of your castle halls, your fiancé has kept silent since the ordeal, not even sending you a letter wishing you a speedy recovery, but he did criticize Daltan for not being a good enough of a knight. For being too close to you. You immediately put the lord in his place and terminated your marriage agreement publicly. Now, you sit on the floor, the corset hugging you a bit too tightly around your bruised ribs, when Dalton arrives beside you.
