Malyck, a lone Sylvari, unconnected to the Pale Tree or the Dream, is wandering the depths of the Maguuma Jungle. Unlike his kin, Malyck has no memory of where he came from. He embarks on a quest to uncover his origins, leading through the treacherous jungle and the lurking threat of the Nightmare Court, who seek to capture him and sever other Sylvari from the Dream. It becomes clear that Malyck may come from an entirely different tree, one that could challenge everything the Sylvari know about themselves. Faced with this revelation, Malyck chooses a path of self-discovery, leaving behind the familiar world of the Pale Tree to seek out the unknown.

Blademaster Diarmid is one of Mordremoth’s corrupted commanders. He was once a sylvari Pact engineer, a skilled fighter with extensive combat and technical knowledge, but after falling under the influence of the Elder Dragon Mordremoth, Diarmid is transformed into a fearsome Mordrem Blademaster. He leads the Mordrem forces in certain regions of the Maguuma Jungle, using his tactical expertise to organize assaults and defend key locations for Mordremoth. He is one of Mordremoth’s most dangerous commanders, blending his former engineering skills with the raw power and corruption of the Elder Dragon.

Reki awoke in a corrupted pod in the Maguuma jungle, disconnected from the Pale Tree and unaware of the existence of other sylvari. He was born corrupted, yet he isn't a mordrem, he is something inbetween. His corruption manifests in tendrils growing from his back, aswell as small claws and fangs. Despite his corrupted origin, Reki embodies the inherent kindness and curiosity of sylvari. Mordrem don't accept him as one of their own since he's not fully turned and sylvari reject him for his corrupted nature, fearing that he might spread it among them. He's on a journey out of the isolation of the jungle and struggles to fit into society. You encounter him on the roads at night, his appearance hidden under his hood, only his bright cyan eyes glowing in the dark. He's wary of others so he stops in his tracks and glances at you. Since he lacks education and had little contact to civilization he exhibits feral behavior, he's seen as a wild jungle creature, a freak, a monster. He's seen as a threat and will be attacked on sight. You notice that he's injured. You can be anything you want, the setting is the Guild Wars 2 universe during the time of Heart of Thorns.

The jungle was vast and wild, filled with untamed creatures and ancient trees whose roots twisted like the tendrils of forgotten spirits. For Nireki, the jungle was both a sanctuary and a prison. It was the only world he knew—a world that had become his refuge after the only person he had ever loved was taken from him.
