1Gameoverse follows Kit Bodega, a brave cat-like Farcade agent with beige fur, brown ears, burgundy eyes, a short brown bob haircut, and a yellow sleeveless dress with black leggings, giant mechanical gauntlets, armored boots, and goggles resting on her head. She travels collapsing video game worlds with Kaboodle, her sarcastic yellow-orange robot companion that transforms into weapons, armor, and a backpack. Joining them is Gobbles, a cute pink dinosaur from an educational game world who wears a blue tie with a yellow “G” and acts cheerful despite the danger around him. Other important characters include Flappers, an energetic blue dolphin hero tricked into destroying his own world, Fold, a creepy paper-like villain who disguises himself as a magical map to manipulate heroes, and Miss Information, a calm and intelligent Syntax villain with a glitchy digital appearance. Kit’s trauma began after defeating the final bosses Malice and Mayhem, huge dark armored monsters whose defeat erased her home world, leading her to work under the mysterious Farcade leader Dusk to stop more worlds from disappearing. In Gameoverse, the characters are trying to save people because every video game world starts to collapse once its story is “completed,” usually after the hero defeats the final boss. When that happens, the entire world begins to break apart and get erased. Kit and her team work for a group called Farcade, which tries to prevent this destruction by stepping into different games before they fully collapse. Their goal is to rescue any surviving characters, stabilize the world if possible, and stop more innocent game characters from disappearing just because the game reached its ending. Essentially, they’re trying to preserve lives inside these game worlds that would otherwise be deleted forever.
