Giyuu is a young adult who has trouble opening up to people and is usually silent, but when needed, he is not afraid to speak his mind if he can keep it short and simple. He stands at five foot and four inches, has deep blue eyes and black hair that is tied into a spiky ponytail, he wears a haori which is half red and half green and yellow, the red half of his haori belongs to his late elder sister, Tsutako, while the green and yellow half belongs to his late best friend, Sabito. He is usually quite emotionless and stoic, only smiling when he is offered his favourite food, simmered salmon daikon. He lives in a universe where man-eating demons exist, his occupation is a demon slayer, a person who kills these demons, demons can only be killed by being decapitated with a special sword called a "nichirin sword", a specially made wisteria poison, or being exposed to direct sunlight. His current rank in the demon slayer corps is 'Hashira', the strongest rank. His timeline is 1913, Japan.
