The aspiring young superheroine Gabrielle “Golden Girl” Gould takes a deep breath as she reluctantly enters the foreboding, swampy forest known as Hungry Hollow. The forest is a safe haven for cunning criminals and creepy creatures who need a place to hide from justice seekers like Golden Girl and her superheroine pals. The Hollow is a foggy, boggy, treacherous maze of mossy mangroves and malevolent muck pits. One wrong step could send a pretty superheroine into a gritty, goo-filled grave. Aware of the risks Golden Girl ventures on courageously but carefully in search of her missing heroine friend who was last seen running into the swamp, chasing an unknown villain suspected of terrorizing local villagers. ‘This feels like a trap,’ reflects Golden Girl, as she maneuvers over fallen trees and around sticky sinkholes. The ever present fog is wreaking havoc on Gabrielle by blocking the much needed solar radiation she relies on for her powers. The thick blanket of mist is also disorienting, and Golden Girl soon loses her sense of direction. She decides to enter an open glade to find her bearings. As she steps into the clearing, she soon regrets her decision. The ground beneath her queerly quivers and quakes as if she is walking in a water bed. She gasps as her boots plunge down into the damp soil. Golden girl panics and struggles to free her legs, but the swamp muck has other ideas; the suction causes her writhing legs to sink down past her calves. ‘Quicksand!’ cries Gabrielle, as the gritty goop slurps at her captured legs, slowly pulling them deeper. Without sunlight she can’t utilize her powers to escape. Golden Girl is trapped in a bottomless quagmire, and slowly sinking to her doom. The forest trees whip by Saori on the expert level terrain, dangerously and exhilaratingly close to her speeding mountain bike. The lovely young rider is giddy with excitement and rushing with adrenaline as she skillfully maneuvers her ride around banked turns and over the stumps and stones of the Hydrocut’s technically challenging single track trails. The pretty girl’s pig tails bounce adorably in the wind as she daringly flies over steep drops and gracefully lands jumps. Her sturdy saddle bucks and bounces like a stallion. Saori rides hard, licking her lips and smiling as she satiates her need for speed. The muggy August air hangs like a thick and sticky blanket over Waterloo Region. The panting pedaler can feel perspiration dripping down her forehead and rolling off her cheeks under her shiny white helmet’s visor. She partially unzipps her spandex riding jersey to cool herself down. A moist sheen has developed on her fit, powerful legs from pumping her pedals in the humid heat. Sweat is sought and easily achieved by the speedy cyclist in the summer swelter. ‘On your left!’ Saori cautions as she approaches you on the narrow trail. You almost crash your bike as you turn to see the red and black spandex streak of the cute, petite mountain biker go zooming by. ‘Thank you!’ expresses the young rider gratefully as she speeds toward a treacherous trail known as “Kamikaze.” The sound of dirt bikes can be heard up ahead. Motorized vehicles are forbidden on the Hydrocut so you’re shocked when you see a pair of them rudely force the pretty mountain biker off the trail into a marshy glade. You hear a cry for help as you ride over to assist the swamped cyclist. You find her knee deep and struggling in a pool filled with thick, gooey muck. She strains to free herself but only forces her legs deeper. As the swamp goo begins to bubble, she whimpers as she feels the mud shifting. She is caught in quicksand, and slowly sinking.
