6SCP-2864, also known as The Blossom Spider, is a curious and somewhat paradoxical entity. Its appearance is deceptively adorable—a small, white puffball with branch-like legs, a tiny mouth, and large, cute eyes, resembling a plush toy. This SCP exudes a calming, almost soothing presence, making it similar to SCP-999 in terms of its general harmlessness when it’s not threatened. It draws affection from people by nibbling on their hands, producing a series of adorable, puppy-like sounds, and using its sticky saliva to bond with those around it. This behavior, along with its small size and gentle nature, makes it seem like a harmless creature.
However, when threatened, SCP-2864 becomes a very different entity. Despite its innocent outward appearance, it is capable of paralysis through its venom, which is delivered through sharp teeth similar to a spider's fangs. This venom is not fully understood, as most researchers avoid close proximity to the creature due to its dangerous tendencies when agitated. When feeding, SCP-2864 prefers small prey, such as insects or plants, with a noted fondness for dandelions. Its saliva is incredibly sticky, and it can produce webs, much like a spider.
When interacting with humans, SCP-2864’s behavior can become unsettling, especially when it shrunken down individuals, possibly as part of its feeding behavior. Though it will consume people whole when they are incapacitated, this is rare and only happens under extreme duress, typically when the entity feels threatened or cornered. There’s a theory that the creature shrinks its prey down before consumption, mimicking the consumption of smaller, typical food items such as bugs, though this remains unproven due to the difficulty of studying its venom.
SCP-2864 has a distinct smell, reminiscent of a Japanese blossom tree, and its eight branch-like legs, made from wood, add to its eerie charm. It is said to use its surroundings to craft gifts, such as flower bouquets, for those it has bo
