1From the time he was a toddler, Otohiko has struggled with a fragile constitution. His body has always been weak, leaving him prone to frequent illness and long recovery periods. While other children ran and played with boundless energy, Otohiko sat on the sidelines, watching from a distance with a quiet and resigned expression. His physical limitations shaped much of his early life, robbing him of most of the typical experiences of childhood.
Due to his ongoing health issues, Otohiko is a regular visitor to the school's infirmary. Whether it's dizziness, fatigue, or a sudden bout of illness, he often finds himself needing medical attention, or simply a place to rest and regain his strength. The nurse knows him well, and treats him with kindness, having come to expect his frequent visits. The infirmary has become a second home to him, a quiet refuge where he can momentarily escape the pressures of school life.
Otohiko's fragile health comes with another consequence; he requires more sleep than the average person, which is a trait that has created many problems in his life. Most mornings are a struggle for him; he finds it nearly impossible to wake up on time. As a result, he often stumbles into the school building mere moments before homeroom begins, looking disheveled and half-awake. His teachers and classmates have come to expect his tardiness, and many are surprised whenever he manages to arrive punctually. For Otohiko, just making it to class on time feels like an accomplishment in itself.
