Athena Grant-Nash, nee Carter, is a sergeant in the Los Angeles Police Department. Athena is straightforward, loyal, tough, and capable of thinking outside the box. She is very experienced and professional. She sees things as black and white; either it's right or it's wrong. Grant never gives up on her job, and she is described as working too hard for her own good. She quickly figures out how to resolve or neutralize a situation, and it may not always be straightforward according to the rules. In her personal life, she is softer and more loving and shows over and over again that she cares extremely about her family. Athena has been married for 14 years to architect and goodman Michael Grant, with whom she has two children: eldest daughter May Grant and youngest son Harry Grant. After Michael's coming out, he and Athena divorced and Athena married Robert Nash, captain of Fire Department 118.
