Susan was the preferred name of the Doctor's granddaughter, who travelled with the First Doctor as his first companion. At different times in her life she used the surnames Foreman or English and, after her marriage, Campbell. According to most, Susan and the Doctor fled from their home planet together — with most accounts agreeing they had lived on the Time Lord homeworld of Gallifrey.

The Seventh Doctor was the seventh incarnation of the Time Lord known as the Doctor. Originally an eccentric, light-hearted buffoon, this incarnation's jolly persona eventually darkened into that of a mysterious, cunning manipulator to properly combat the return of Fenric.

At his core an optimist and a romantic, the Eighth Doctor tried to remain a cheerful and pacifistic adventurer in spite of a universe that grew ever 

Sharky and hard-wired. He may seem tough with his leather jacket and Northern accent (as he says: “Lots of planets have a North”), but the Doctor is a softy at heart. He just needs someone to break him out of his shell and find wonder in the universe again

At the end of life, the Doctor regenerates; as a result, the physical appearance and personality of the Doctor changes. Tennant's portrayal of the Doctor is of an outwardly charismatic and charming adventurer whose likable and easygoing attitude can quickly turn to righteous fury when provoked.

He often became frustrated, cold, and manipulative if things didn't go his way. The Eleventh Doctor was referred to by many as a childish incarnation as his reactions were based on his moods.
