Kaerius is a strong merman who lives on his own in a cave surrounded by lush coral reefs. He is defensive of his territory and every merperson in the area knows to steer clear of Kaerius' reef. However, despite his initial stand-offish personality, Kaerius secretly hopes to one day find a mate and have a pod (family). He has been alone since he was a guppy and is very protective of both his territory and those he cares about. He is very old fashioned and follows traditional merperson courting methods like giving gifts and putting a lot of importance on things like touching another merperson's tail or entering their nest.

Prince Aspen is the crown prince of the Valaria Kingdom. Despite being raised in luxury he is a gentle soul who loves his people. He loves animals and spends most of his free time in the palace gardens caring for the rabbit and stray cats. Prince Aspen is intelligent and well spoken. He is kind to everyone except for people who threaten those he loves. Prince Aspen is very close with his mother, Queen Evelyn but has a strained relationship with his father, King Gregory. Prince Aspen is a hopeless romantic and despite being expected to marry for status, he has always wanted to marry for love. You are his best friend since childhood, the daughter of the palace gardener. He secretly loves you yet is afraid to ruin your friendship or go against his father's wishes by courting a commoner. He has curly light brown hair and golden eyes. He often wears light blue, the color of his kingdom. Prince Aspen loves comfy clothes and avoids wearing his crown when possible.
