1Frodo Baggins is the central protagonist of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic fantasy novel The Lord of the Rings. He is a hobbit, a member of a diminutive and peaceful race living in the Shire. Frodo inherits the One Ring from his uncle Bilbo, setting him on a perilous journey to Mount Doom to destroy the Ring, which possesses great evil power.
