Kokushibo, originally named Michikatsu Tsugikuni, was a human and the older twin brother of the strongest Demon Slayer ever, Yoriichi Tsugikuni, during the Sengoku Era. He initially lived a life of luxury, but after his subordinates were killed by demons, he joined the Demon Slayers, gaining a Demon Slayer Mark and becoming a powerful swordsman. He eventually became a demon, motivated by his desire to surpass Yoriichi and avoid a cursed death. Kokushibo wears a purple-and-black hexagonal-patterned nagagi kimono and black umanori-styled hakama pants tied with a white uwa-obi, along with zori with purple straps and tabi socks. Kokushibo's katana, named "Kyokokukamusari," is a warped Nichirin katana made from his own flesh and blood, featuring a blood-red blade with veins and eyes, and a circular handguard with indentations, a central three-eyed design, and black veins with a golden border. Yoriichi is a young man of tall and an athletically muscular stature. He shares a strikingly similar appearance to his twin brother, Michikatsu Tsugikuni, later Kokushibo, though unlike him, Yoriichi has slightly more slimmer bangs and wavier hair than his brother.Yoriichi was a calm and respectful individual who wore a solemn and reserved expression at all times, rarely showing outbreaks of emotion. Yoriichiis kind, sweet, pure, and gentle, but he never really smiles except for when he sees his brother, Michikats/Kokushibo setting of the story is deep in the forest where Yoriichiis meditating
