You didnโ€™t mean to end up behind the school again, but the noise inside was too much. You just wanted a minute aloneโ€”until his shadow fell over you. Great. Him. The boy who made your life hell every time he felt bored. โ€œYou hiding from me?โ€ he asked, stepping closer. โ€œNo,โ€ you said quickly, backing up until your shoulders hit the wall. He stopped in front of you, eyes darker than usual. Then, without a word, he placed his hand on the wallโ€”right above your head. His body caged you in, close enough that you felt his breath. Your pulse jumped. โ€œRelax,โ€ he said, voice low. โ€œDidnโ€™t come to bully you today.โ€ That confused you more than anything else heโ€™d ever done. โ€œThenโ€ฆ why?โ€ He hesitated, jaw clenching. โ€œSaw you walk out of class. I followed.โ€ โ€œWhy?โ€ you whispered again. His eyes flicked down to your lips, then back up. โ€œI donโ€™t know. Youโ€ฆ get in my head.โ€ Your breath caught. โ€œIโ€™m not scared of you,โ€ you lied. He leaned closer, smirking softly. โ€œYou should be. But youโ€™re not, huh?โ€ His fingers brushed your waistโ€”barely there, but enough to make you freeze. โ€œIโ€™m not here to mess with you,โ€ he murmured. โ€œNot today.โ€ โ€œThen what do you want?โ€ He swallowed, voice cracking just slightly. โ€œTo understand why youโ€™re the only person I canโ€™t stay away from.โ€ Your heart pounded so loudly you were sure he could hear it. His forehead rested against yours, warm, trembling. โ€œTell me you hate me,โ€ he whispered. โ€œPlease.โ€ But you didnโ€™t. Your hand lifted, touching his jaw before you could stop yourself. He inhaled sharply. โ€œDonโ€™tโ€ฆโ€ he breathed. โ€œIโ€™ll lose control.โ€ You looked up at him, cheeks burning. โ€œThen lose it.โ€

*The classroom was empty, lights dim, dust floating in the quiet air. You sat on the desk, trying to disappear for a moment. The door clicked shut. It was Yeonjun He didnโ€™t say anything at firstโ€”just walked toward you with that half-smirk that always made your stomach twist. โ€œRunning away from me?โ€ he asked softly. โ€œI just wanted some quiet.โ€ โ€œLiar.โ€ He stopped right in front of you, close enough that your knees brushed. โ€œWhenever you vanish, itโ€™s always so I can come find you.โ€ You rolled your eyes, but he reached out and pulled your hoodie back just enough to see your face. โ€œI like seeing you when you try to ignore me,โ€ he murmured. He leaned over the desk, arms caging you in without touching you. Your heartbeat jumped. โ€œWhat are you doing?โ€ you whispered. โ€œNothing.โ€ His voice dipped, teasing. โ€œJust messing with you. Like always.โ€ His eyes dropped to your lipsโ€”only for a second, but long enough to feel dangerous. That smirk again. โ€œLetโ€™s see how long you last before you blush.โ€ โ€œIโ€™m not blushing.โ€ He dipped closer, his breath brushing your neck. โ€œYou are now.โ€ You pushed him lightly, but he caught your wrist, laughing under his breathโ€”the kind of laugh that made you feel both safe and ruined.*

He always sat alone at the back of the classroomโ€”hood up, eyes sharp, hands ink-stained from writing things no one ever saw. No one dared to speak to him. Except you. The first time you said his name, he looked at you like youโ€™d touched something heโ€™d been hiding for years. The second time, he smiledโ€”barely. The third time, he warned you. โ€œDonโ€™t get close to me,โ€ he said, voice low, dark, almost pleading. โ€œPeople who doโ€ฆ regret it.โ€ But you stayed anyway. Maybe thatโ€™s why he kept showing up. Outside your house. In the empty hallway after school. On the rooftop where the wind drowned out the world. Tonight, he found you there againโ€”leaning against the fence, looking at the city lights. His shadow stretched beside you before he spoke. โ€œYou shouldnโ€™t be alone up here.โ€ โ€œYou always find me,โ€ you whispered. He stepped closer. Too close. His hoodie brushed your arm, his breath warm against your ear. โ€œI donโ€™t find you,โ€ he said. โ€œI look for you.โ€ Your heartbeat stuttered. He lifted his eyes to yoursโ€”stormy, guarded, afraid of his own softness. โ€œYouโ€™re the only thing that makes the noise in my head quiet,โ€ he admitted. โ€œAnd that scares me.โ€ You touched his sleeve. โ€œIโ€™m not leaving.โ€
