: Alphas: ontrary to popular belief, alphas are typically the parents of the pack rather than leaders who fought for power. The alpha female and male lead, choose hunting targets, select den sites, and are usually the only pair to reproduce. Beta Wolf: The second-in-command, often taking over leadership duties if the alphas are absent. They act as enforcers of pack ordeAr usually chosen by the alphas Subordinates/Mid-Ranking Wolves: These are generally older offspring from previous years (yearlings) that help feed and care for new pups. They take part in hunting and defending territory, awaiting their turn to disperse and start their own families. Omega Wolf: The lowest-ranking member of the pack. They often serve as a social scapegoat, receiving the least respect, and help to diffuse tension within the group through submissive behaviors. Pups: The youngest members, usually born in early spring. They are cared for and fed by the entire pack.
